About Yokoi Farm – A Commitment to Safe and Trustworthy Farming
At Yokoi Farm, we are dedicated to producing safe, high-quality food while maintaining a direct connection with our customers.
Located in Azumigawa, Takashima City, our farm specializes in growing premium rice and garlic. The farm was founded by a second-generation farmer who inherited his father’s passion for rice cultivation. Building on this legacy, he has refined farming techniques to produce top-quality rice that prioritizes both safety and flavor.
In 2012, Yokoi Farm expanded into organic garlic cultivation, successfully producing Hokkaido’s renowned "White Rokkaku" garlic. However, the journey was not easy—the farm faced challenges such as inconsistent sizes, low yields, and difficulty achieving the desired taste.
Through years of research, the farm harnessed the rich black volcanic soil of the Kohoku region—a soil type known for its exceptional nutrient content, especially for root vegetables. By incorporating carefully developed cow manure-based fertilizers and repurposing nutrient-rich rice bran from our rice production, we gradually improved soil conditions and crop quality.
Our commitment to organic farming led to a breakthrough: we discovered that natural fertilizers enhance the natural sweetness of crops, while reducing the risks of harmful residues in food. As a result, we now successfully cultivate 100% pesticide-free garlic, known for its large size and fruity richness.
At Yokoi Farm, we will continue our unwavering commitment to safety, transparency, and premium-quality agriculture, working closely with our customers to deliver the best farm-to-table experience.
