Description

"Girls' Festival" is a combination of a purification ceremony in which people transfer their misfortunes to dolls made of plants, paper, and straw called hitogata (dolls) or katashiro (figures), and then let them float in the sea or river, and a game of playing with dolls (hina-asobi) that began in the Heian period. Girls' Festival is a time to give thanks and celebrate the healthy and healthy growth of children. It is a time to experience traditional Japanese culture and enjoy the seasons. Experiencing the annual event of Girls' Festival will enrich your child's heart. Hina dolls are filled with the warm wishes of parents to ward off misfortune and for their children to grow up to be healthy and kind women.

There are two types of Hina dolls: "Kimono-clad dolls," which are made by simply putting a kimono on the doll's body, and "Kimekomi dolls," which are made by inserting kimono fabric into a body made of paulownia wood powder solidified with glue. (Kimono-clad dolls tend to be large in size. Kimekomi dolls tend to be small in size.) For larger costumed dolls, we recommend displaying the doll alone on a red cloth so that you can enjoy the beauty of the kimono, and for smaller Kimekomi dolls, we recommend displaying them together with a folding screen and flowers to bring out the doll's cuteness.

Celebrating the birth of a daughter or granddaughter by displaying Hina dolls is such an important occasion that it can be said to entrust the family's dreams and hopes to the dolls. I would be happy if people from other countries could feel the same way.

About Muroya

Muroya has inherited the name "Muroya" from a brewery (miso, soy sauce, or koji maker). Currently, we stock a wide variety of nostalgic toys and sweets. We accept large orders for festivals and events, as well as for children and individuals. We also stock hagoita (battledore), hamayumi (bad bow), Hina dolls, May dolls, carp streamers, and Bon lanterns for seasonal events such as Boys' Festival, Girls' Festival, and Obon, as well as events to pray for children's growth. Since the end of the COVID-19 pandemic, all of our employees have been working to create a store that is enjoyable and appealing to individual customers, rather than a business. In the summer, there are many festivals, so we sell products that can be enjoyed at home, such as by dividing up large items into smaller portions. We also create assorted sweets boxes to meet customer requests.
