Descripción

In the samurai society after the Kamakura period, armor and helmets were important tools for men to protect themselves. It is believed that people would pray for the healthy growth and safety of their children and celebrate the Boys' Festival by displaying important military equipment such as armor and helmets in their rooms.During the Edo period, it became customary for common people to display "mushāe" (warrior paintings) of helmets and warrior dolls on paper or cloth. It is believed that the art spread among the general public. After that, the art gradually expanded from warrior paintings to replicas of helmets, armor, spears, etc.
From the mid-Edo period, the belief in dolls spread, and May dolls began to be displayed.

The main materials used are aluminum and iron. We have a wide variety of dolls, armor, and helmets that represent wishes for children's happiness and growth. Of the many products available, we only display the most carefully selected items.

They are displayed as protective talismans to celebrate the birth of a successor (son or grandson), to pray for the boy to grow up strong and avoid misfortune such as illness or accidents, and to pray for the family line to continue for generations.

About Muroya

Muroya has inherited the name "Muroya" from a brewery (miso, soy sauce, or koji maker). Currently, we stock a wide variety of nostalgic toys and sweets. We accept large orders for festivals and events, as well as for children and individuals. We also stock hagoita (battledore), hamayumi (bad bow), Hina dolls, May dolls, carp streamers, and Bon lanterns for seasonal events such as Boys' Festival, Girls' Festival, and Obon, as well as events to pray for children's growth. Since the end of the COVID-19 pandemic, all of our employees have been working to create a store that is enjoyable and appealing to individual customers, rather than a business. In the summer, there are many festivals, so we sell products that can be enjoyed at home, such as by dividing up large items into smaller portions. We also create assorted sweets boxes to meet customer requests.
