Descripción

Gunma Prefecture is the number one producer of silkworms in Japan. The silk produced in Gunma is then produced in Kiryu, a city with a history of weaving spanning more than 1,300 years. This product is produced using a process of horizontally embroidering printed on fabric, so the pattern would never match on a multi-head computerized sewing machine, differentiating it from the imitations of horizontally embroidered products that have become more common in recent years. This embroidery is done by traditional craftsmen one by one using horizontally embroidering, so even the same pattern is slightly different, making it a one-of-a-kind product that is different from mass-produced products. As the material is silk, it is an eco-ethical product, antibacterial, highly absorbent, light and warm. The "Kirijan" is a genuine Sukajan.

About Trust International Ltd.

Souvenir jackets, commonly known as "sukajan", are said to have started shortly after the war, when they were embroidered on jackets as a memento for American soldiers stationed in Japan. The embroidery and sewing on the sukajan were apparently outsourced to Kiryu, and since it was difficult to obtain silk thread at the time due to material restrictions, rayon fabric, which is similar to silk, was used. We have been raising silkworms for about nine years, producing about 500 kg of cocoons four times a year. We are the company that launched "Kirijum" in order to make "authentic sukajan" using silk thread, which was not possible to produce at the time.
