Description: Sanriku Railway, established in 1984, is a third-sector railway company. The section of the JR Yamada Line from Kamaishi to Miyako, damaged by the Great East Japan Earthquake, was transferred to Sanriku Railway in 2019. The new "Rias Line" integrates the former "North Rias Line" and "South Rias Line." The 36-700 series cars began operation in April 2013, and as of 2023, 14 cars are in service.
